TRANSFORMATION: PART 2 - The “Transformative” path…..for a New Year

In part one, you learned how to tap into your potential, search out your skills, learn your likes and dislikes and understand the need for personal change.
Now you are sufficiently prepared to take the next step towards your life goals and your ultimate dreams.
Transformation (or change of any kind) is not easy.  Releasing old habits and thoughts can often be challenging and frustrating, but patience is the key to recovery.  Recognizing why you need or want to make a change is vital.   You can only make changes for yourself. It is important to understand that you cannot make changes for another, unless you are a parent of a small child or the caregiver of someone who is unable to make life choices.
Transformation is about empowering yourself, giving yourself permission to release and let go of that which is no longer serving a purpose in your current life.  This could be a relationship, a home, a job, or simply a thought system.
Letting go of a relationship often seems to be the most challenging aspect of transformation.  We tend to become “stuck” in a situation when another is concerned, and we may have a difficult time cutting ties to family, friends or colleagues to benefit our lives.  We are so focused on not hurting an individual (or causing more tension, more friction and/or more upheaval in an emotional situation) that we lose ourselves to save another.
You are the only person who can choose to cut these ties.  You are the only one who chooses how you spend the rest of your life.  Listen to your “gut” feeling and ask yourself simple questions:  Does this relationship make your life easier or more difficult?  Do you spend more time crying than laughing?  Do you constantly have a spring in your step, or are you constantly tired?
Your “gut” response will provide the answers for you, listen carefully!  Your first response is the true response.
So, how do you make the change?  When you have decided to “release” the old, and “initiate” the new, everything falls into place.  You will meet new people who can guide and support you, you will find solutions and options you had never thought of.  Talking about your feelings, your fears and your future to a professional or third party listener can also help you to understand your needs and help you see clearly into the next phase of your life.   Support groups are great for meeting others who have either gone through or are going through similar circumstances as you are.  You may also choose to promote encouragement and motivation in others, using your experiences and coping skills to facilitate growth.   You may choose to read or write about your struggles and your journey forward.
Changing thoughts
Believe it or not,, changing your thoughts is the most challenging undertaking of all.  Letting go of inherited thoughts (labels or ideals given to you as a child), cemented indoctrination (religious, educational, parental), peer expectation (conforming/acceptance) and issues of confidence & self worth are all very difficult to accomplish.
Change one word (or belief) at a time is the way forward.  You can do this through meditation, visualization, peer support groups and/or counselling session. Initiate and design your own “mantra”, a word, sound or vibration which functions as a repetitive sounding focus point, an anchor, allowing your mind to utilize and accept what is being said or heard.
TIPS
  • Try chanting as an exercise.
  • Write a dream list or create a dream board.  This gives you a visual focus point, something to plan for, something you can actually see, rather than mentally envision.
  • Surround yourself with inspirational books of poetry or stories, spiritually uplifting or vibrational music (harp, drums, wind instruments, bird or ocean sounds).  Hypnotic or rhythmic movement, (swaying, soul dancing).
  • Believe – this is where it all begins.  Believe you are worthy, believe you have the knowledge, and believe you are the key to change.  BELIEVE in all that is “universally” true.  Believe you are better than the words of other’s.  BELIEVE you will transform and change for a better and more rewarding life.
  • Trust and Faith – have faith in your own power, and, trust in the outcome.

ANGEL COMMUNICATION - SETTING THE STAGE

So, you are ready to reach out to your Angels, guides and/or other celestial cousins. This is an exciting time, you are probably eager to get going, but before you plow head long into communication, there are a few “housekeeping” rules, which you MUST adhere to. When you “reach” out to spirit source, you must first of all understand that you are opening a “portal” for ALL spirit to enter. As with our human existence, there are different spirit forms, some from the dark side, and others of pure light. You need to make sure you are only allowing spirit in from the PUREST LIGHT FORM, the highest form of love, light & truth. You also have to make sure YOU are ready, clear of mind (no anxiety, nervousness, worry), grounded & protected. If you don’t follow these first steps, you may be allowing yourself to become a conduit for unsavory happenings. CLEAR THE MIND: I call this the “cleansing” period.

First, turn off all electrical appliances, phones, tv, radio etc. You do not want to create a static vibration around your environment.

•      Have a soothing warm drink (chamomile etc)
•      Do a repetition of cleansing breaths, this helps to alleviate any pent up emotions, anxiety, stress etc, and also helps to lower your blood pressure and clear your head.
•      Short “Blessing” should be done at this time, (prayer, meditation)
•      Visualize the WHITE LIGHT of protection around your physical being and your space
•      Let you Guides/Angels know that you are ready and prepared to begin. ASK for the HIGHEST form of love and light to bring you messages. ASK for continual protection for yourself and your space.
•      SMUDGE or use incense (you will be shown in class)
•      BREATHE – take a big breath and you are now ready to begin.
•      SET THE STAGE
•      Clear you environment – unclutter
•       Place your “tools” close by. i.e. pendulums, cards, candles etc
•       Have pen/paper or battery operated tape recorder ready.
•       If it is daytime, you may choose to close the curtains.

Once you have chosen a space for communication, readings, scribing etc, you are better off using this space each time you communicate. You are “instilling” you energy into this space, and your “energy” becomes more entrenched in it. I like to use the same chair for instance, as it feels comfortable to me, like an old friend. NOW YOU ARE READY TO BEGIN............. You do not have to do anything more than sit, wait, listen & be open to receiving messages, love, healing (whatever you are asking for)...In the begin, perhaps you won’t feel, hear, see or sense anything “unusual”. This is normal, do not “force” anything. TAP INTO YOUR “SENSES”:

When you are sitting quietly, feeling drowsy, calm, at peace.....you are in the prime position to ask how you will know when a “presence” is around you. Each person picks up different sensations: EARS: you may feel a hot sensation, a buzzing or tingling in one of your ears EYES: you may “see” shadows, light, flickering or you may have the deep “need” to simply close your eyes. NOSE: you may “smell” certain fragrances or odors (smoke, perfume, flowers, food, etc) MOUTH: you may have a dry mouth or increased salivation. THROAT: you may have the desire to “clear your throat” or cough, swallow repeatedly HEAD: you may be aware of slight pressure in your head, or have a mild to severe headache, this is all temporary. CHEST: you may feel your heart rate increase or decrease, you may have the sensation of needing to gulp air or take big breaths, and again this is all temporary. HANDS/SKIN: you may feel cold, hot, clammy, dry, itchy.........
Any of the above sensations may indicate how you feel the presence, you will
become accustomed to this feeling each time you prepare to communicate. For me, I feel intense heat in my right ear; sometimes it feels like a 100 people shouting at me at the same time, I also feel the need to continuously clear my throat. Normally, this all settles down within a few minutes, but depending on the situation (group readings etc) you may remain this way for the duration. TOOLS: pendulums, cards, automatic writing, crystals, Ouija boards, instinct etc.  Practice with a few of these tools, you will be more comfortable with one than the other, learn how to use your tools, there are so many books and internet studies, classes or workshops. As you begin to feel more comfortable with one over the other, you may want to incorporate these tools into your communication. You may decide to use no tools; some of the tools are all at once. Everyone is different. It all depends on your experience, comfort level or what you are using them for. For instance I use the pendulum and some crystals for healing, and only cards (or instinct) for readings. Experiment and find out what is right for yourself. INSTINCT: Some of us rely solely on our instinct in our communication, readings, daily lives.... What is “instinct”? It is the “feeling” you get when danger, love, happiness, anticipation is close by/happening. Where do I feel it? We refer to the points of instinct as our Chakra centers – (hopefully you took the Chakra workshop, if not, it may be wise for you to do so)
 • base of the spine
• pit of the stomach
• solar plexus
• heart
• throat
 • forehead
• crown of head
Instinct is often referred to as the “fight or flight” syndrome. You feel it then act upon it. It propels you forward, locks you in place, produce physical imbalance or emotional upset. It can terrify or excite. Learn where you “sense/feel” it. Use these feelings to take note, listen, or prevent/promote action.
MIND OR IMAGINATION? People always ask me if they are really in the presence of spirit or if they are only imagining it. I cannot answer this question thoroughly, as everyone is different, some people do “play” a role (pretend, exaggerate, etc). As a Spiritual Hypnotist, I can tell you that the mind is a super powerful tool, and if you imagine something happening, you will eventually manifest it. You will know if it is “real” for you, when you feel: Warmth, protected, loved, happy, at ease. You may notice a feeling such as a happy thought or a loving breeze is passing by/over you, a gentle hug or kiss has been given to you. You may notice an illuminated light around you or your space. If you feel anything uncomfortable, pain, anxiety, racing heart, a sense of darkness or fear, you must stop what you are doing. You could be invoking dark spirit or you could be allowing your mind to “wander” away from your pure intentions. TYPES OF COMMUNICATORS: (“Clair” = clear) Claircognizant: one who clearly “knows” “believes” “recognizes” (often confused with Clairsentient) Clairaudient: one who “hears” clearly Clairvoyant: one who “sees” clearly Clairsentient: one who “feels” or “senses” clearly (also called psychometrists) –may get their information from holding an object, standing still, channeling etc.

So, now you have some information on “finding your style” and “practicing” your art. From now until Part 4, you should practice, practice, and practice. In Part 4, you will have the change to give a “reading” (communicate a message or tap into essence), the meat and potatoes of the course. Good Luck, and remember I am only a phone call/email away. Blessings, Lilyana
Loving, divine One; I open myself up as a channel of information. Use me to bring your messages of love, hope, courage, healing & wisdom to those around me. Provide me with your veil of protection, so that I can recognize messages from the purest truth source. Envelope me in your illuminating light which I accept freely.

A Series of Transformation: Part 2

By: Linda Kraan- Benson

The “Transformative” path…..

In part one, you learned how to tap into your potential, search out your skills, learn your likes and dislikes and understand the need for personal change.

A Series of Transformation

By:Linda Kraan- Benson

Today’s topic is about the ease of transformation....PART 1

Many people ask me how to transform their life. Many feel their life would be better if they were more financially stable, in a more loving relationship, were more liked, felt more confident, were less heavy, had better behaved children, lived in a better place, had a more secure job, etc.

So many reasons why they think life would be easier...however,
I have to answer that EVERYTHING is attainable, you can MANIFEST a much more joyful & peaceful life for yourself. How does this happen? When we STOP focusing on the EXTERNAL and START focusing on the INTERNAL.

The mind has the capacity for delivering what we are asking, feeling, envisioning etc. If you desire a different life, you must focus on attaining it, in a more positive and loving way. Start slowly. Get to know yourself, what are your likes, dislikes. Write a list of pros and cons. When do you feel the most joyful, the most saddened? When do you feel the most energetic, the most tired? Write it all down, see where you excel and where you find challenges. Now, eliminate that which does not serve a purpose. What do you have left? Work within your means, your capabilities, your skill set.

Oftentimes, we do things for the ease of another. We take on responsibilities for another, we encourage another, we SPEND valuable time with another, we often expend much needed ENERGY on another. We must learn to give ourselves the same respect, the same time, the same energy.

Now, when you know yourself a little more, try sitting in silence for just 5 minutes a day, view your thoughts, again write them down. If you find your mind wandering, do not berate yourself, simply guide yourself back to the task at hand - getting to really know yourself, and finding your inner strength and changing your thoughts, is a consistent, yet empowering, use of time and space.

Transformation comes with self belief, respect, time, thought and action, remember: one small step at a time.... Stay tuned for PART 2, and please feel free to communicate with me and/or share your feelings, your story and your transformation with others.....Blessings, Lilyana

All About Reflexology

By: Linda Kraan - Benson

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY
The feet, hands, body & ears are divided into “zones”.  Within each “zone” is a “system” which contains organs and glands.  When there is a blockage or imbalance within the body, it is noticeable within these “zones”.

Light pressure, applied by the thumb, fingers or whole hand, is applied to certain “reflex” points on either the foot  hand or body, which increases the “energy” flow to blocked or inflamed areas where treatment is being done.  The ear has smaller “reflex” points, often referred to as “acupressure” points.
Reflexology can help to correct, balance and stimulate movement within these “zones”.
Reflexology is a wonderfully therapeutic, relaxing & soothing treatment for the hands, feet & ears.  The feet & hands also represent a “reflex map” of the entire physical system.  The ears are often used for alleviating “acute” pain, pressure & fever.

A brief history lesson:   In 1915 an ear, nose & throat physician, Dr. William H Fitzgerald, introduced his research findings on “zone therapy”. He believed that certain areas on  the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body.  He realized that the when applying pressure to the tip of the big toe, headaches were gradually diminished.  When pressing the heel, congestion from the intestinal area also improved.   The heart and chest corresponded to the ball of the foot.

In the 1930’s, American Physiotherapist, Eunice Ingram, would further develop the “zone” theory.  She realized that when stimulating or applying pressure to key points on the body, which she referred to as “reflex” points, a signal, from the brain, would be sent to the corresponding organ, causing the release of hormones into the system. It is thought that the release of these hormones is responsible for the healing effect of Reflexology.  Eunice would later travel the world and speak with medical practitioners on the benefits of probing the feet for a story of health.  In 1938 she wrote her first book entitled, “Stories the feet can tell”.

BENEFITS
All health conditions, whether physical or emotional.  Releases tension & stress.  It can induce relaxation and a state of well being.  Reflexology also promotes a healthy sleep pattern, pain management, increased energy and mental clarity. Reflexology also helps to remove blockages, release toxins, reduce swelling & restore balance within the glandular system.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A TREATMENT
You may recline in a chair, or lie on a massage table.  Whether for the feet, hands, or ears, the practitioner may or may not use essential oils. Gentle “finger pressure” will be applied to stimulate certain “reflex points” within different “zones” of your body.  This is normally a comfortable feeling, however, depending on how “sensitive” you are to “applied” touch, or how “chronic” your condition is, you may feel a slight pressure or sensation.

The practitioner, will record any discomfort you feel, during the these sessions. There are many different techniques used to create a relaxation response, to calm & soothe your physical systems.  Normally, a client will fall asleep during this phase.

HOW LONG DOES A TREATMENT TAKE
Depending on whether you are having foot, hand or ear reflexology, a treatment takes anywhere from 30-65 minutes.
(Caution:  in pregnancy, epilepsy, heart regulation, i.e pacemakers)
A toe to knee massage is incorporated in foot reflexology, wear loose pants, no tights.  A 3 session program is suggested, and needs to be done twice yearly for maintaining optimal health.

A Look into Past Life Explorations

By: Linda Kraan- Benson

http://a248.e.akamai.net/origin-cdn.volusion.com/dyrm4.5kqac/v/vspfiles/photos/PastLife-CD3-2.jpg
People often ask me if I believe Past Life Exploration (therapy) would work for them.   The answer is a complex one.

I will answer by saying this: life is a series of lessons; we are continually problem solving, finding alternate solutions to our many issues.  Everyone person has their own path to follow, no two paths are alike.

Some people may find their “recognition” through
re-connecting with their former life times, others prefer to do their “inner work” in this, current, lifetime.

Why would we choose Past Life Exploration?

As a former nurse, I have seen many people suffer, unnecessarily, from chronic pain, extreme emotional upset, low self esteem and many other debilitating disorders.  No matter what these people have done to change their lifestyle, no matter which therapy they have chosen, no matter how many “specialists” they have visited, their condition remains the same.   In this case, I would suggest Past Life Exploration.

Often times, when a person re-visits a traumatic event or experience, during a hypnotic state of mind, they can simply “view” these experiences as an outsider.  When we re-visit a past life, we can see the event, and even feel the experience again, however, because we are viewing through the subconscious mind, we can choose how we wish to emote.   Our perception of the event becomes altered:  we recognize what is happening, without the emotional ties of this experience.

Sounds complicated, confusing?  Let me give you an example.
For many years, I suffered with severe back pain, when I was 11 years old, a specialist wanted to insert a steel rod along my spine, a Harrington Rod.  My mother took me to the hospital to undergo this procedure; however I became very agitated and ran away.

Fast forward to my first pregnancy, I found carrying my child past 5 months, was extremely painful, and I could hardly move around, losing use of my legs due to intense pain in my mid to lower spine.  I had an emergency C-section.

Two years later I had another C. Section in my 8th month of pregnancy.  After my 2nd son was born, I underwent a battery of tests.  Osteotomy, Physiotherapy, Pain Management, nothing worked.  Someone suggested Cranial Sacral Therapy with hypnotic induction.  I was prepared to try anything.

During the session I slipped into a former lifetime.  I was a slave and had been skewered with a dagger, deeply embedded between my mid to lower spine. During the session, I was directed to gently remove the dagger, which I did.

Two months later, pain free, I marvelled at the possibility of this Past Life Exploration, its many benefits to our present life experiences.   Yes, I believe in Past Life Exploration, I believe it is a valuable tool in treating major issues in this lifetime.  Like all other avenues of healing, you must be ready, accepting, & have a belief in the outcome.

People come for Past Life Exploration for many reasons, some I have mentioned above, but also to affirm their belief system, to gain a deeper spiritual understanding, to ask for Divine guidance and/or to connect with their many angels, guides & teachers of wisdom.

Caution:  Past Life Exploration may not be the correct therapy for children, those suffering from mental issues, dementia, cognitive barriers, and personality disorders.
Like any other form of treatment, a full disclosure of illness must be released, a firm belief in the course of therapy is essential.
I do not use Past Life Exploration for “curiosity” purposes.

Angels Are Among Us

By:Linda Kraan- Benson

http://www.myangelcardreadings.com/images/healingcardmain.jpg
People always ask me “are there angels here right now”?
The answer is “yes”…….Angels are always among us

Angels show themselves in many forms.  Depending on your belief system, you may perceive angels as either a religious figure or simply as a “feeling”, “thought” or “internal recognition”……

Often, Angels will come to you in a manner that you can best recognize, perhaps in the form of a loved one, or as your favourite animal…….
You will always recognize an Angel.  Instinctively, you will know that this apparition, visitation, feeling, thought, light being, is of a TRUE nature, of PURITY and LOVE.

Many people will “feel” their presence, rather than actually see them.  Other’s will hear them.  Angels are adept at allowing us to recognize their presence, providing signals which are easily communicated.

Have you seen “flickering” lights? Do you see a “shadow” pass by?  Do you feel a “breath” over your shoulder?  or, a light caress across your face?   There are many different ways Angels communicate with us.

There are also many different reasons for their communication .
They deliver Divine messages to us.  They are sent to protect us.  They come to show us the “light”.  They help to provide leadership.  They acknowledge our being.  They come to assist us in times of need, challenge, and adversity.

Angels come in many forms, as a spiritual essence, as a breathing being of light (human or animal).
Watch for them, listen to them, feel them…….simply ask for their presence. You will be richly rewarded.

If you would like to know more about Angels, Archangels & Celestial Beings, please contact me or more information.  Ongoing workshops are held throughout Hamilton & Burlington throughout the year.

Blessings,
Liyanna

What is Hypnosis?

By: Linda Kraan- Benson

What is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word, Hypnosis?  Many people think of other’s acting like chickens and making us laugh.   This is indeed one form of hypnosis, but it goes much “deeper” than that……

Hypnosis is a focused, “trance like state”, characterized byextreme suggestibility, relaxation and heightened imagination.

It is also a very gentle method of uncovering your skills, talents,
goals, dreams & aspirations.  Whether you suffer from pain, anxiety, stress, insomnia, eating disorders, weight issues, fears or phobias, lack of self esteem, motivation, bad habits, a debilitating health issue, relationship breakup, home or career move, or simply wishing to advance through life in a more
positive and fulfilling manner, hypnosis will help you.

HYPNOSIS can be extremely healing and cathartic.

Transformational, Therapeutic, Medical, Metaphysical & Forensic Hypnosis: As with any other form of “medicine”, “healing” or “energy work”, there are different areas of hypnosis.  Hypnotists are skilled practitioners, some remain “general”
hypnotists and other’s go on to specialize in their field.

Some work with the police force, other’s with doctors and/or other health care practitioners, other’s with a particular population or demographic.  Some hypnotists go into the counselling field of Hypnotherapy, and other’s into the entertainment field.

How to choose a hypnotist:
In my opinion, choosing a hypnotist is like fitting your hand into a well worn glove.  Take advantage of “free” consultations.  Ask questions,
e.g. which form of hypnosis is used, their expertise, fees, hours, how many sessions, etc.  Before you commit, try a relaxation session first, this is always a great indicator of how things will proceed.  Do you like their voice, the way they speak, clarity, tone, pitch. Are they attentive, loud or softly spoken?   Don’t assume that every Hypnotist is the same.  Find one that you are comfortable with and who fits your needs.

Hypnosis is non-threatening and incredibly safe.  Most people can be hypnotized; however, there is a small population that hypnosis may not be the correct therapy, i.e. those with diminished cognitive awareness, or extreme mental illness.

During hypnosis, you always remain in control.  You decide how far you wish to proceed, what you need to uncover, retrieve etc.  You can end a session anytime you wish. There is absolutely no mind control involved. Try a deep relaxation session and see what you “think”...
